This masterclass is a 2+ hour event designed in partnership with Northeastern University Toronto to cover the evolving role of project managers and the change leadership skills required, while also providing an opportunity for networking with like-minded professionals.

The masterclass will feature presentations from our in-house team, as well as expert guest speakers and executives who are responsible for project management teams and leading change in their organizations.

This masterclass will provide project professionals with a practical deep dive into change leadership as it relates to project management.

Meet Our Speakers

Colleen Ward
Vice President, Technology Solutions, TD

Colleen joined TD in October 2014 as an Associate Vice President and Head of TD Merchant Solutions. She was promoted to Vice President of Canadian Credit Cards and Merchant Solutions Technology in August 2015, leading the Delivery Shared Services organization consisting of Portfolio Directors, Project Management and QA Practice. Her role expanded in April 2016 to include the application development, solution architecture, solution design, and business systems analysis teams.In early 2017, Colleen’s role expanded further to include the Operations Shared Services which included all production support, change/problem management, and audit/controls leadership. This experience allowed her to lead the end-to-end technology teams and have a truly holistic view of her businesses. In October of 2017, Colleen’s portfolio increased to include Debit Cards, expanding her team to 6 locations across Canada. In May 2018, Customer Assistance (formerly known as Collections) joined her team adding operational expertise for all our currently assigned lines of businesses and adding Personal Lending and Auto Finance.Colleen is currently the Vice President of Technology Solutions leading the Canadian Debit Card, Canadian Credit Card (TD Credit Cards, Aeroplan, MBNA and CUETS), Merchant Solutions and Customer Assistance technology teams. Colleen started her career while in university, working full time at HSBC learning about lending and credit card processing in operations and sales support roles. Colleen was eventually promoted to AVP of National Sales, leading the top Canadian private label credit card account in that era – The Brick. Working closely with technology, she acquired much card processor knowledge, building technical enhancements to support The Brick’s growth. This experience led her to a role at American Express holding several global technology leadership roles for almost 11 years. Colleen moved to JPMorgan Chase Card Canada as the Chief Technology Officer for 5 years prior to joining TD.Colleen has a demonstrated history of working in the banking industry and possesses skills in talent management, strategic planning, enterprise architecture, progressive technical delivery.

Christopher Bolick
Lead Faculty, Master of Science in Project Management, Northeastern University

Christopher Bolick, serves as Lead Faculty in the Master of Science in Project Management program. Mr. Bolick has extensive experience in project management and business process improvement, and has previously worked with a Fortune 40 company in engineering and construction, real estate operations, strategic sourcing, facilities maintenance, and design and continuous improvement. He brings his extensive expertise in managing strategic initiatives and cross-functional teams to Northeastern where, since 2013 he has served as a graduate faculty member and academic consultant. Mr. Bolick is the master teacher for the “Experiential Learning Projects for Professionals,” Communication Skills for Project Managers,” and “Project Scheduling and Cost Planning” courses. He has taught a range of courses at the graduate level, including Project Foundations, Project Evaluation and Project Capstone, in addition to those listed previously. Additionally, he has presented at PMI’s 2018 Technology and Talent Symposium and has a chapter in a new textbook on project management in his areas of research including the intersection of Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, and Digital Transformation as it’s related to project management practices.He holds a Master of Project Management from Western Carolina University, and the following certifications; Project Management Professional PMP ©, Business Process Management, and Lean Six Sigma. Mr. Bolick is pursuing an EdD in Organizational Leadership Studies at Northeastern.He lives in North Carolina and teaches online.

Lilian Abu Halaga
Interim Head, Enterprise Project Management Office, Interac Corp

Lilian is a senior leader with over 20 years of experience in Project Management. Just a few weeks ago, left the Lilian full time world to return to her consulting roots. She's working with her current client Interac to help transform their PMO. Prior to going out on her own, she was the Director of Enterprise Project Management at Meridian Credit Union with a team of ten project and program managers working on the organization’s largest strategic initiatives. Before joining Meridian, her experience at other financial institutions included Senior Project Manager in the Project Management Office at HSBC Finance Corporation and Program Director in the Office of the Chief Data Officer, Integrated Data & Analytics Program at Toronto Dominion Bank Financial Group.Lilian works passionately to bring strategy to life and supports executive teams to execute initiatives beyond tactical project management to organizational transformation and change. She has a proven history of leading, coaching, developing and mentoring project management teams to focus on delivery of business benefits. Lilian’s volunteer efforts include mentoring new professional Canadians to find a job through the Toronto Regional Immigration Education Counsel (TRIEC). She also provides leadership to community engagement corporate committees to help others find their volunteering passion. Lilian is also an avid traveler. Lilian is a member of the Project Management Institute and is PMP certified. In addition, she holds a Change Manager Certificate from Prosci, a Risk Manager Certificate from the University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies & Global Risk Management Institute, and a Scrum Master Certificate from Scrum Alliance.

Adel A. Zadeh
Program Director and Professor, Director PMI Toronto Chapter

A project management educator and consultant with +10 years of experience, Adel is the board member at PMI Toronto chapter and program director and professor at Lambton College in Toronto, where he directs a number of post-graduate programs including "Construction Project Management" and "Enterprise Project Management and Leadership" programs. Over the last four years, Adel has trained more than 1000 managers, who are now working in different industries in GTA. Adel is passionate about strategic change and is the leading voice in using business and technology to create positive change. Adel cares about the environment and passionate about driving sustainability initiatives at the city level. As the Vise-Chair of Sustainability Advisory Committee (WSAC), he is an inspiring voice on how to use such a scale to maximize positive outcomes for people and the environment. Adel holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Cambridge (UK), is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and an accredited LEED BD+C.

Yvonne Ruke Akpoveta
Change Strategist & Change Management Lead, OliveBlue

Yvonne is a Change Management Strategist and Change Leadership Advocate with over 20 years of experience helping professionals and organizations to navigate and transition through change, most especially in today’s disruptive environment.She is genuinely passionate about change and has worked with a broad range of organizations globally to help lead and manage their Strategic, Technology and Regulatory Change Initiatives. Her experience in leading and managing change with these organizations, coupled with her exposure to global and diverse business environments have equipped her to be proficient in thinking ‘outside the box.She holds a BSc honours in Business Information Technology & Marketing from London Guildhall University, an MBA from Warwick Business School, England, and a Change Leadership Certificate from Cornell University.She is also the founder of The Change Leadership, a series of events and conferences focused on preparing leaders, change professionals and organisations to lead change in today's fast-paced and disruptive business environment. And in so doing, positively impact the welfare of their surrounding communities and the economy.She is a published author, an Inspirational speaker, a John Maxwell certified leadership coach, and change catalyst.
