Traditionally, we’ve looked to change practitioners, senior leaders, project leads, or transformation teams to take charge of change. But in today’s workplace, that mindset is shifting fast. While projects may have a start and end date, the ability to lead and respond to change must become part of culture.
A culture that runs across every team and function, regardless of role or title. The pace of change is too fast and too constant for the responsibility to sit with just a few.
With AI reshaping roles, hybrid work redefining collaboration, and disruption becoming the norm, organizations need agility and practical change leadership skills at every level.
And I love the shift I’m seeing: more organizations are no longer limiting change capabilities to a select few. They’re equipping employees across the board to lead change, not just receive it.
Whenever I’m invited to deliver change leadership training, my recommendation is always this:
Focus on change leadership, not just change management.
Prioritize practical skills, not just models and processes.
Because here’s the truth: change is not a checklist or one-time transformation. It’s a constant, lived experience. And if we want our people to thrive, not just survive, we must lead differently.
